Privacy & Policy

This Policy describes how our website and companion app handle data, security, and user rights.

Effective date: Nov 17, 2025 • Last updated: Nov 17, 2025

Scope

We operate a browser-based website at emoji-tools.com and a companion mobile/desktop app (collectively, the "Services"). This Policy covers both, including their interoperability and data flow between them.

The Services are designed to run processing locally in your browser or device whenever possible. We prioritize privacy and minimize server-side processing.

Data We Process

Local Processing First

Our primary design principle is privacy-by-default. The vast majority of our tools process your files entirely within your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. This means:

  • Your images, PDFs, audio files, and documents never leave your device
  • No uploads to our servers for processing
  • No storage of your content on our infrastructure
  • Complete privacy and security for your sensitive files

Anonymous Analytics

Operational data: We collect minimal, anonymized analytics to understand how our tools are used and to improve performance. This includes:

  • Page views and tool usage statistics (no personal identification)
  • Error logs and performance metrics (anonymized)
  • Browser type and general device information
  • No tracking of individual users or sessions

User Content

User-provided content: Images, audio, documents, and inputs you process are handled locally in your device. We do not store, transmit, or have access to your content. The only exceptions are:

  • Features that explicitly require server processing (clearly marked)
  • Optional cloud storage features (if you explicitly enable them)
  • User-submitted feedback or support requests (only if you choose to send them)

No Account Required

Account & authentication: Our website does not require account creation. All tools are available without registration. If we introduce optional accounts in the future, they would only be used for:

  • Saving user preferences across devices
  • Optional premium features (if introduced)
  • Newsletter subscriptions (opt-in only)

Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies or local storage for session management, preferences, and non-personal analytics. You can clear them via your browser or device settings.

No third-party tracking cookies are intentionally deployed. Any analytics operate in a privacy-preserving mode.

App ↔ Website Linkage

Single experience: The app and website share core features. When you opt in, we synchronize non-sensitive preferences (e.g., UI language, tool presets) to provide a consistent experience.

No content uploads by default: Processed content (images, audio, documents) remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to store, sync, or share. We avoid server-side retention.

Authentication: Sign-in enables optional purchases, saved settings, and cross-device continuity. Credentials are handled via industry-standard OAuth providers; sensitive secrets are never stored in plain text.

Security

Transport security is enforced via HTTPS. Data at rest (if any) is encrypted. We apply least-privilege access and regular reviews.

Payments (if offered) are processed by reputable third-party providers and never touch our servers beyond necessary metadata.

Third-Party Services

We may use services for analytics, error reporting, ads, or hosting. These providers are contractually bound to handle data responsibly and comply with applicable laws.

Where feasible, analytics run without personal identifiers. Ads (if present) are configured to minimize tracking.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense is a third-party service provided by Google LLC that uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the Internet.

Google may use the following cookies and technologies:

  • __gads cookie: Stores preferences and information about how ads are displayed
  • __gpi cookie: Persists the user's ad preferences across pages
  • IDE and ANID cookies: Used by Google for advertising purposes
  • Google may also use device identifiers, IP address, and browsing data to serve personalized ads

These cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads that are relevant to your interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting:

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we require your consent before serving personalized ads. You will see a cookie consent banner upon your first visit — you must agree before any advertising cookies are set.

Your Rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent where applicable.

For EU/EEA users, we align with GDPR principles. For California users, we align with CCPA principles. Local laws may provide additional rights.
